In case you were wondering; tomorrow I will be gone from you forever. But as the saying goes: Tomorrow never comes. Yet does that mean we do not plan today for what tomorrow might bring? Do we not look to the future to bring about a brighter today? As we are beginning an end to this year, we look to what the next year has to offer. Today I awoke with purpose. With that purpose, there must be a plan. As I sit here in my office, my rabbit hole, I look to all the pages cast at my feet. The pages of yesterdays that have captured moments. Yet in a hundred years who will care? An idiom that tears at the poet’s soul.
Isn’t it the premise of the artist to shout: Here I Am! The desire of a voice to be heard in a hundred years. Or, perhaps, tomorrow. Whether remembered as a resounding shout or an echoed whispered we wish to leave behind an essence of who we were and what was important to us. Many are the reasons as many are the people. Perhaps as a loving memory or a final word. Maybe as an instruction or a hope. A fragile faith or strong belief. As the day ends, we will venerate our yesterdays and dream of our tomorrows. Yet to what end? What can become of our outcome of purpose if we do not bear witness to today? I am here for you today.
